One of the greatest Western Songs ever written. This was written by Bob Noland of the Sons Of The Pioneers.
Many singers both Country and Pop have recorded it. Many with great success.

Marty Robbins
Johnny Cash
Jack Scott
To Name A few. Frankie's recording was made in 1955 and was popular at the time but never charted.(The charts only went to the top 40 at the time)
But did make it to #2 in the U.K.
Frankie recorded it later on in a more traditional western flavor but lost it's uniqueness. I think the is the best of them all. But that's just my opinion.
