David sings Charlie Chaplin's Smile from the film Modern Times(1936) . Chaplin wrote the music, words were added in 1954 by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons. Nat King Cole had a worldwide hit with the song but David unusually failed to make an impression in the UK charts where it was his follow up to the record breaking Cara Mia, although it reached #25 in the US.
